The Problem with Here-Say (GOSSIP) 

Gossip is the sharing of private information; whether TRUEor FALSE to those who are neither part of the problem nor the solution.

 Someone said GOSSIP is like mud thrown against a clean wall; it may not stick,but it leaves a mark.

 

BIBLE PERSPECTIVE: 

When we say things about others we would not say in their presence, we disobeying God's word (Lev.19:16) and destroying that person's reputation. The Bible teaches that the SIN of GOSSIP is not merely the spreading of LIES, but includes any form of interferences in the personal affairs of others (2 Thess.3:11 @ 1Tim. 5:13) 

 

New Birth, GOSSIP is a common  SIN among CHRISTINS because we find it so easy to justify. Learn to recognize GOSSIP. We should test a story before telling it, and we should critically evaluate the stories we here about others. Is it TRUE? Will the telling of this story benefit anyone?

 

Will it bring GLORY to GOD/CHRIST? Would I want that story told about me, even if it was TRUE?
